By Rebecca Weinfield / September 28, 2026

Name: Tiffeny Rivers

Title: Senior Manager

How long have you been with JSDD?
4 years and 5 months.

Was this the position you started in?
No, I started as a manager and then within a year, was promoted to senior manager for the first official supervised apartments, which houses 10 residents.

What is your first memory of JSDD?
My first memory of working at the Maplewood group home was how much I was welcomed at the home by staff, family members, and residents, and how supportive the administration team was in breaking down everything I needed to know. Further, a BIG SHOUT OUT to senior manager Diana Romulus for a two-week training that was incredibly comprehensive. I would not be the manager I am without her!

What has most surprised you about working with JSDD?
How well organized the residential and nursing teams are with their monthly audits to ensure that the needs are met.

What are 3 words to describe JSDD?
Empowering, structured, and compassionate!

What do you wish other people knew about JSDD?
JSDD is more than just a job; we are a village of people who care for the residents as if they are our own family members.

When your friends/family find out that you work at JSDD, what do they say or ask?
My family asked if they could visit where I work… they wanted to meet the individuals I work with, due to them hearing me talk about them all so much!

Tell me about someone who has influenced you while working with JSDD?
Letticia Waymer, the Director of Residential Services, her empathetic leadership and unwavering integrity, has created a highly supportive environment for me, while her insightful guidance has (and still does!) empower me and my staff to deliver exceptional care.

What part of your job are you most excited about?
Providing care and being helpful by advocating for my staff, the residents, and the residents’ families when need be!

What is on your wish list for the next 5 years with JSDD?
A family portal, to launch a secure communication app for each home to share daily updates and photos with the residents’ families.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about working for JSDD?
I would explain how supportive the organization is.

Before working at JSDD, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
Before working for JSDD, I worked as memory care coordinator with adults with Dementia and Alzheimer’s.

What is your favorite thing for Lunch?
This is up in the air between two different foods: any sort of pasta dish, or a nice fresh garden salad with extra onions and cucumbers!

What is something about you that is not on your resume?
I am mother of 3 biologically; however, I care for a total of 10 children when you include my God children and nieces and nephew. I love to travel with them all, as well!!
