Your Gift. Your Way.
There are many meaningful ways to support JSDD beyond making a traditional donation. Whether you want to maximize the impact of your giving, support JSDD through appreciated assets, or include JSDD in your long-term plans, your generosity helps individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities live fuller, more independent lives.
JSDD does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice. Please consult your tax advisor, attorney, financial advisor, or plan administrator regarding your specific situation.

Gifts of Stock
Donating appreciated stocks, bonds, or mutual funds can be one of the most tax-efficient ways to give.
Potential benefits may include:
- Avoiding capital gains tax on appreciated securities, if transferred directly before sale
- A charitable income tax deduction, if available under applicable law
- The ability to make a larger charitable gift
If you would like to make a gift of stock, please contact us before initiating the transfer so we can ensure your gift is properly credited.
IRA Charitable Distributions (Qualified Charitable Distributions)
If you are age 70½ or older, you may be able to make a generally tax-free gift directly from your IRA to JSDD through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD).
A QCD can:
- Satisfy all or part of your Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), if applicable
- Reduce taxable income by excluding the distribution from income, if eligible
- Support JSDD’s mission immediately
Please consult your financial advisor or IRA administrator to determine whether a QCD is right for you.
Donor-Advised Funds
Giving through your donor-advised fund is a simple and convenient way to support JSDD.
If you have a donor-advised fund with organizations such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, Jewish Community Foundation, or another sponsoring organization, you can recommend a grant to JSDD at any time.
Employer Matching Gifts
Many employers match charitable contributions made by their employees and retirees.
Check with your Human Resources department to see whether your employer offers a matching gift program. Your donation could have twice the impact.
Planned & Legacy Giving
You may also choose to support JSDD through your long-term estate or charitable planning, including:
- A bequest in your will or trust
- A retirement account beneficiary designation
- A life insurance policy
- Other planned giving arrangements
Please consult your attorney, tax advisor, or estate planning advisor regarding the options that may be appropriate for you.
By joining the Goodman Perwien Legacy Society, you help ensure that future generations of adults with IDD continue to receive the support they deserve.
