For the fourth year in a row, JSDD residents and WAE Center members came together for an afternoon filled with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments at the annual Prom. This year the event returned to the elegant Brownstone, setting the stage for a truly wonderful afternoon.
Guests arrived dressed to impress, ready to celebrate friendship, community, and self-expression. Adding to the excitement, the incredible band Rock for Inclusion kept the dance floor buzzing. WAE Center members and band members shared a joyful reunion, having previously connected when the band performed at the WAE Center—making their time together at the Prom even more special.
This celebration would not have been possible without the dedication and teamwork of JSDD staff. A special thank you goes to JSDD’s Director of Nursing, Jennifer Fay for once again coordinating this beloved event, ensuring every detail came together seamlessly. Jen Fay says: “Seeing everyone come together and enjoy the formal makes all the effort so worth it!”
There is so much “behind the party” work put in by managers, assistant managers, and Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) who make sure every resident looked and felt prom-ready—from outfit selection to final touches that made each attendee shine.
More than just a dance, the Annual Prom continues to be a powerful celebration of connections, and joy. As we reflect on another successful year, we are grateful for the smiles, laughter, and shared experiences that made this event so memorable—and we look forward to creating even more magic next year.
