The Life | Home | Tech (LHT) team has been engaging in a variety of community events and professional opportunities, continuing to share knowledge and build connections about how enabling technology can promote independence.
At the Boonton Transition Resource Fair, LHT Program Coordinator Stacy Kaplan, Supervised Apartment Coordinator Jasmine Tadros and DSP Adriana Amaro had the opportunity to connect with families, educators, and fellow service providers. They enjoyed meaningful conversations about JSDD and highlighted how enabling technology can support greater independence and quality of life for individuals across a range of abilities.
Marcia LeBeau, Outreach and Education Coordinator for LHT and Jessica Goldstein Manager of Sponsored Programs and Communications participated in the Federation Aging and Tech Expo, where they attended a series of presentations led by innovators and thought leaders. The event focused on the growing role of technology in supporting adults as they age, including emerging tools and the use of artificial intelligence to help address challenges such as social isolation.
Susan Nasberg-Abrams, Director of LHT represented the team at the New Jersey Advocates for Aging Well (NJAAW) at their Aging in Every Sector Conference, continuing to expand knowledge and stay engaged with statewide efforts focused on aging and accessibility.
In addition, Marcia LeBeau served as a featured speaker at the New Jersey Age-Friendly webinar, “Easier Living with Technology.” Hosted by Rutgers’ Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, the Division of Aging Services, and NJ Human Services, the webinar brought together experts to discuss practical ways technology can support older adults.
Marcia was joined by Stephanie Drag of Children’s Aid and Family Services and Darleen Reveille of The Harpour Group, LLC, along with her 89-year-old tech-savvy mother, Lily, who added a valuable personal perspective. Marcia highlighted JSDD’s Life | Home | Tech program and provided real-world examples of devices and solutions that address common needs.
Life | Home | Tech is grateful to have been part of these important conversations and opportunities. Through continued outreach, education, and collaboration, the team remains committed to advancing awareness of how technology can enhance independence, connection, and quality of life for all.
We are especially thankful to our grant funders, whose generous support makes it possible for our team to continue this work.
