HFNJ has stood alongside JSDD as a trusted supporter — one that understands our vision, believes in our work, and recognizes the importance of innovative, person-centered solutions.
Through HFNJ’s generous support, JSDD continues to advance Life | Home | Tech (LHT), an initiative that is transforming how we support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and older adults to live healthier, safer, and more independent lives.
Life | Home | Tech focuses on the thoughtful use of enabling technology — such as remote supports, smart sensors, digital reminders, and adaptive tools to enhance daily functioning and promote better health outcomes. These tools, when aligned with each individual’s needs and goals, empower people to take greater control of their routines, well-being, and independence. The use of enabling technology is making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. It allows for improved medication routines, reduced fall risk, supports better sleep, and encourages healthier nutrition and self-management. The results are safer environments and individuals who feel empowered to participate actively in their own care.
The partnership has strengthened the foundation of LHT and expanded its reach over the past year. Together, we have reached over 500 people with individual evaluations, staff training, classes, presentations, tours of our Demo home, and individual recommendations.
New partnerships and expanded staff training will ensure that technology is used intentionally and effectively — always in service of better outcomes for the people we support.
The lesson we continue to learn is clear: technology has the greatest impact when it is guided by clinical insight, aligned with personal goals, and supported by trained, compassionate staff. Our professionals are the key to the success of this new initiative.
Looking forward, JSDD remains committed to sustainability and responsible growth. Plans are underway to expand remote-support homes, strengthen evaluation and data systems, and explore new funding and reimbursement opportunities. HFNJ’s support has helped us build momentum, deepen impact, and move closer to a world where every person, regardless of age or ability, can live with greater independence, safety, and dignity.
