On March 27, 2026, WAE Center members and staff enjoyed an inspiring offsite trip to the Drawing Rooms Gallery in Jersey City. Staff members Faye and Frankie were joined by members Mike C., Kevin C., Yael, Erik, and Graham for a day immersed in art and creativity.
The group explored the exhibition “Flower Power Right On,” which filled a series of intimate gallery rooms and hallways with vibrant and imaginative works. The exhibition featured three main sections. At the front, whimsical sculptures crafted from cardboard boxes set a playful tone. Nearby, a striking wall of portraits showcased a variety of artistic styles and mediums. The final—and largest—section celebrated flowers through artwork ranging from delicate watercolors to expressive pieces made from wood and ceramics.
Gallery guide James shared thoughtful insights about the artwork and artists, keeping everyone engaged throughout the visit. After touring the exhibition, members had the opportunity to create their own artwork in the gallery studio.
The trip was a refreshing and joyful experience, leaving everyone feeling inspired and truly ready for spring.
